Kai of Darkmide, a once feared warlord, and Eloise of Brightstone, a timid princess, face danger once more from the fallen angels who seek revenge on man, although this time there is an added complication when the fallen are aided.
Jana, a powerful witch, and Tigan, a deceitful mercenary from Sabe and Kiera’s past, join forces to summon Samyaza, one of the most powerful of all fallen angels. The witch strikes a bargain with the fallen angel to possess Tigan, making him indestructible in battle. Tigan has always been envious of Kai’s fame and seeking out the witch, he awaits to become possessed. Wanting to become how Kai once was, he accepts the pain inflicted on his body by Jana, knowing it will all be worth it once he has the demon within.
In exchange for granting the gift of possession, Samyaza seeks a sacrifice, someone gifted with seraph abilities in order that he can free himself of the bonds that hold him captive in hell. The witch also intends a reward for herself, and schemes to seduce Kai, with the intention to produce a baby of seraph heritage. Using dark magic, Jana shows all in her coven why she is famed as all powerful.
A young witch, naïve but powerful, aids our trusted warriors, and in doing so is given refuge at Blackhill. Reluctantly becoming entangled in more secrets, she listens to the advice of Nazar, a new warrior who recently joined with Sabe and his sister, Kiera. Trying to do what’s right, she keeps the secrets but worries she will be outcast once Kai and Eloise learn of the deceit.
It’s a race to save the sacrificial offering and to stop Tigan from becoming possessed. Kai and Sabe join Brightstone and Blackhill’s forces to rid the world of the powerful witch, and Tigan. Once again the seraph comes to the warrior’s aid, yet at what cost? The final battle culminates with the transformation of Eloise from a timid queen to a feared warrior as her husband fights for his life, and freedom from bondage once more.

Excerpt from Angel Within: A story of Angels & Fallen Angels, Book Two
Seeking the solace of the hills, broken and in despair, Kai wandered into the hillside. Branches snapped under his feet as he searched for a place to rest. Watching the swaying branches as the gathering breeze picked up, he leaned against the rocks to rest. The wounds incurred from Tigan were not so painful after Sian administered healing, but his heart was broken. The suffering of his lover, wife, and queen, was a constant reminder in his troubled mind.
He touched the pendant Eloise had given him and shut his eyes. The memory of the pair of them together in the Temple of Truth the day before their wedding flooded into his mind. As quick as a lightning bolt expelled from Eloise’s hands, his fear of dying alone flashed into his mind.
“Eloise…” Kai’s broken words fell unheard on the hillside. Tightening his fingers around the pendant, his thoughts turned to her and their unborn child. How afraid she had appeared!
The rage built inside. Tigan must die.
His hand squeezed the gold pendant and cursed the seraphim for their gift. It only served to make her a target now, as a sacrificial offering to a fallen.
“Anael!” Kai’s voice roared and echoed throughout the hillside in the still of the night.
“ANAEL!” He cursed.
Kai’s head fell back in despair against the rocks where he rested, as tears flowed down his bruised cheeks.
“You are hurting, Kai of Darkmide.”
Snapping his head towards the voice, Kai pushed away from the rock and gazed at the figure.
Appearing taller than himself and surrounded by a glowing light, the form of a man slowly appeared.
“You are Anael?”
The seraph nodded and stepped closer.
Kai straightened when Anael edged nearer.
The once-scarred skin across his back tingled. It was Anael who had healed him after the battle with Adramelech. Kai could only assume his body remembered the effects of the healing from the seraph, and shivered at the sensation as it increased.
“I need your help.”
Examining Kai’s bruised face and body, the angel cocked his head to one side, “So it would appear.”
“Eloise is held against her will, and I can’t fight her captor, not as a man.”
“You are no man, Kai of Darkmide.” The seraph gazed up into the night sky. His eyes followed the stars stretching above them before returning his gaze to meet Kai’s.
“I am nothing, if I cannot save my wife!” He faced Anael and glared. “Tigan is possessed, as I once was.”
“Was?” Anael asked.
“A witch aids him. She’s raising a fallen. One of yours.” Kai spat the words; his disdain for everything magical and unnatural raised his blood to boiling. “Samyaza.”
“The watchers are fully aware of Jana and her magic. We have faith, Kai.” Anael’s voice remained soft and quiet.
Kai snarled. He’d had enough of this nonchalant manner. “In who?”
Slowly moving to Kai’s side, and with a relaxed expression, Anael continued. “In you.”
“I can do nothing!” Kai raised his shirt, showing Anael the contusions, before turning his cheek for him to see more on his face. “Does it appear to you that I am strong enough to fight a demon?”
Kai’s rage burned, he spun around to face the seraph. “I need to return to my former state, as I was when I was possessed by a fallen angel, so I can defeat Tigan!”
For the first time in Kai’s life, he wished he had the demon within. His whole life he’d been a slave to its bidding, and to that of his slavers. He felt useless, powerless. If it had still been lurking inside him – if only Anael could make it return…
“Are you not your father’s son?”
Anael lowered his eyes to meet Kai’s stony expression, and sympathetic to his plight, gave him hope. “It never left you, Kai.”
“I don’t understand. You removed Adram, my father.” Kai sneered at the name. “Then you healed me, casting out the demon within.”
“I did no such thing.”
There was silence while Kai stared at Anael. Since Adramelech had surrendered to Anael and accepted his punishment, Kai had not felt that fury inside.
His anger only increased with Anael’s game-playing.
“I am not possessed!” he said gruffly. “There’s no strength like there was before!” Kai’s frustration increased. “Don’t you think I tried to fight Tigan? There was nothing I could do!”
“A father would always aid his son, when called.”
Anael retreated with his hands behind his back, his expressionless face faded as a light consumed his form and impressive wings appeared.
Kai’s irritation increased, “Don’t you care? Why did you gift Eloise, if you’re just going to stand idle and let her die?”
The form of Anael burned brightly as the wings spread wide, before he faded into the night, as quickly as he had appeared.
Standing alone, Kai screamed in frustration at the heavens. Only Anael’s soft, voice remained. “Ask your father.”
Unable to determine the direction of the whispered words, Kai spun around, “Anael!” calling out, his frustrated cry resonated over the surrounding hills and up into the mountains.
